Your dog's data deserves careful handling.

Information we collect

Furcast may collect the following information when you use the app:

• Account information: your name, email address, authentication provider, and account identifier.
• Dog profile information: details you enter about your dog, such as name, breed, age, weight, coat type, snout type, and medical-history notes.
• Photos: a dog profile photo you choose to upload.
• Collar information: the tag identifier, SHT40 temperature and relative-humidity readings, activity measurements, battery status when available, and pairing status from a compatible Furcast collar tag. Nearby readings arrive in Bluetooth advertisements. When WiFi fallback is enabled on the tag, readings may also arrive through Firebase so they remain visible while the tag is away from the phone. The paired tag identifier is stored with your dog's profile.
• WiFi setup: if you choose to connect a collar tag to WiFi, the app sends the network name and password directly to the selected tag during a short Bluetooth setup connection. Furcast does not save the password in the app, display it after entry, log it, or send it to the Furcast backend.
• Settings and app activity: preferences such as whether heat alerts are enabled and information needed to provide the app's features.

How we use information

We use information to provide and maintain Furcast, including to:

• create and secure your account;
• save and display dog profiles and medical notes;
• calculate personalized heat-risk estimates using dog, environmental, and activity information;
• show current collar readings and recent activity;
• show whether a fresh reading came from nearby Bluetooth or remote WiFi;
• deliver safety alerts when enabled;
• troubleshoot, protect, and improve app reliability; and
• respond to support and privacy requests.

A live heat-risk estimate requires a fresh, valid reading from the Furcast collar through Bluetooth or WiFi. If collar data is unavailable or stale, Furcast does not show a live heat-risk score and does not substitute phone location or online weather data.

Medical-note text is checked on the device for a limited set of words used by the heat-risk estimate. The current production app does not send medical notes to an AI provider or another medical-classification service.

Furcast provides informational risk awareness. It does not diagnose, prevent, or treat a medical condition and is not a substitute for veterinary care.

Services that process information

Furcast uses service providers only when needed to operate the app:

• Google Firebase provides authentication, database, file storage, and trusted backend functions. Firebase Authentication generates and stores identifiers for authentication and processes the account details described above. When the app invokes a backend function, Firebase processes invocation metadata, including the function name and caller IP address. Most Firebase SDKs may also send a Firebase user-agent bundle containing the device, operating system, app bundle ID, and developer platform. Firebase states that this user-agent bundle is not linked to a user or device identifier.
• Cloudflare hosts and protects this public privacy page. When you visit the page, Cloudflare may process network and device information such as your IP address, browser details, request logs, and a strictly necessary security cookie used to distinguish legitimate traffic from automated abuse.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices. Furcast does not use your information for third-party advertising and does not sell personal information.

Data sharing and tracking

We do not sell personal information, share it with data brokers, or use it to track you across apps and websites for advertising.

Information may be shared with the service providers described above, when required by law, to protect users and the service, or as part of a business transaction where legally permitted. Providers are expected to use information only to perform services for Furcast.

Retention and deletion

Account and dog-profile information is generally retained while your Furcast account remains active. Some information may be retained longer when necessary for security, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or backup recovery.

You can permanently delete your account from Settings in the Furcast app. In-app deletion removes your Firebase Authentication account, dog profiles, dog photos, medical notes, collar assignments, remote collar readings linked to your tags, and app settings from Furcast's active systems. Apple sign-in users may be asked to authenticate with Apple again so the app can revoke the Apple authorization as part of deletion.

Some information may remain temporarily in backups or be retained when required for security or legal compliance. It is not used to recreate your account.

You may also request access to or correction of personal information by using the support channel below. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Your choices

• You can deny or revoke Bluetooth access in your device settings. Without Bluetooth access, Furcast cannot pair with or set up a collar, but an already paired collar may still provide remote WiFi readings.
• On Android 11 and older, the operating system may label Bluetooth scanning permission as location access. Furcast does not read phone coordinates or use Bluetooth scans to determine your location.
• You can disable heat-alert notifications in Furcast settings or device settings.
• You choose whether to upload a dog profile photo.
• You can update dog-profile and medical-history information in the app.
• You can permanently delete your Furcast account and associated data from Settings in the app.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Furcast and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms and provider safeguards.

Children

Furcast is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

Policy updates

We may update this policy as Furcast changes. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or through another appropriate channel.
